Most Wanted Movies of 2007
The same fun ordeal every year… this is a slight preview of 2007’s anticipated and promising movies with the title, directing, and acting names attached. Last year, The Departed was the second most wanted movie and it turned out to be number one on Film Prophet’s 2006 top list, then eventually winning the Oscar for best picture. It’s fascinating to see where this list will stand a year from every early-mid March.
Every year there will be some dazzling movies and others as box-office slumps or big disappointments. There was many to select from this time around speculating from artist names, plotline, and the like, before even seeing most of the trailers. After I finished my research and compilation, the collection came to over 50 films so I had to narrow it down to 30 like usual. Lots of notable ones that I will see and review have been trimmed off. Sequels such as Are We Done Yet?, The Hills Have Eyes 2, Hostel 2, Rush Hour 3, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and Fantastic Four: Rise of The Silver Surfer are probable ticket sales successes, or not, but not anticipated here. Extraordinarily, there was an overwhelming amount of a big mix from favorite entertainment franchises that’s being adapted to the silver screen this year. The list also consists of possible late-season award contenders. Like every year, I expect to review all of the movies featured on this list. The list is subject to change because late estimated release dates change. Sometimes movies are push backed for being too independent, too limited in few selected theaters, or not finished in time, so the list will be adjusted if movies fall back to
'08 or later. If that happens, another '07 movie yet to be released will be placed in for a fallen one.
